Outstanding Graduation Project of GAD

开云在线网址数字媒体艺术专业2019届优秀毕业生丁苑琦同学，在数字媒体专业田辉教授的悉心指导下，毕设作品得到师生的高度评价。学生通过观察当代人类现阶段对于“求知”的态度和看法来探讨其“求知”背后的目的，以及对内心和本能的自问。人类探寻未知事物是与生俱来的本能行为，人类社会在这神圣的行为模式下不断的进化创新，与时俱进，形成一种良性循环。但现今繁忙的社会模式下，这个过程似乎都变得麻木扭曲，不再纯粹。因此，设计师以一种全新的方式来阐述这一行为，挖掘来自人类本能的秘密。

Ding Yuanqi, an outstanding graduate of digital media art in GAD in 2019, received high praise from teachers and students under the careful guidance of Professor Tian Hui, who majored in digital media. By observing the attitudes and opinions of contemporary human beings towards “seeking knowledge” at the present stage, Ding Yuanqi explored the purpose behind “seeking knowledge”, as well as the self-questioning of the heart and instinct. Human beings are born with the instinct to explore the unknown. In this sacred mode of behavior, human society constantly evolves and innovates, keeps pace with the times, and forms a virtuous circle. But in today’s busy social model, this process seems to have become numb and distorted, no longer pure. Therefore, the designer elaborates this behavior in a brand new way, excavating the secrets from human instinct.

作品名称：灯光装置《寻觅》

作品尺寸：2.8m*3.5m*7.6m

作品材料：槽钢，窗帘轨道，硅胶管，密度板，镜面膜，灯带，角钢。

设计说明

在现今繁忙的社会模式下，大众逐渐形成了麻木机械化的生活节奏，陷入了空洞无尽的深渊，慢慢失去了对新事物的观察力和创造力。灯光装置《寻觅》探索未知的行为和欲望之间的关系，打破空间和时间的限制，通过抽象的形式重新唤起每个人出于自己本能的理解和思考，感受每个“寻觅”过程中复杂而神秘的瞬间。

Graduation Project：

Lighting installation– “Seek”

Size: 2.8m*3.5m*7.6m

Materials: Iron plate, curtain track, silicone tube, MDF, mirror mask, lamp strip, angle steel.

Description: In today’s busy social mode, the public have gradually formed a numb mechanized life rhythm, fallen into an empty abyss, and slowly lost the observation and creativity of new things. Therefore, we want to use this device to explore the relationship between the unknown behavior and desire, break the limitation of space and time, and reawaken each person’s own instinctive understanding and thinking through the abstract forms, and feel the complex and mysterious moment in every “seeking” process.

你为什么选择这个方向来作为毕设的研究课题？

“我对光影装置这种艺术形式本身就抱着极大的兴趣，所以从最开始就决定以光影装置作为毕设的形式，课题内容的灵感来源于阅读的经历，我渐渐发现“求知”对于很多人来说变成了一种任务或负担，渐渐忘记了其真正目的和存在的意义，所以我想以一种新颖的方式让参与者重新自问本心，寻回初心，体悟“求知”过程的魅力”。

有什么学习方法和建议给大家？

“建议平时多跑跑展览，我认为优秀的艺术展可以开阔眼界和思维。学习技术很重要，但不能拘泥于此，要注重培养创新思维方式，打破常规。遇到问题时不要一味地和自己死磕，要不羞于向他人请教。”

Interview with Ding Yuanqi:

Why did you choose this direction as your final research topic?

“I am very interested in the art form of light and shadow devices, so I decided to use light and shadow devices as the final design form from the very beginning. The inspiration of the subject content comes from the experience of reading. I gradually found that “seeking knowledge” has become a task or burden for many people, and gradually forgot its real purpose and significance of existence, so I want to use a novel way. In this way, participants can ask themselves again, find their original intention and realize the charm of the process of “seeking knowledge”.

What learning methods and suggestions do you have?

“It is suggested to run more exhibitions in peacetime. I think excellent art exhibitions can broaden our horizons and thinking. Learning technology is very important, but we should not stick to it. We should pay attention to cultivating innovative ways of thinking and breaking the conventions. When you encounter problems, don’t blindly knock with yourself, don’t be shy of consulting others.”
