An education system featuring local internationalization, integrating global education resources and social resources
学院注重教育教学生态建设和资源引入模式探索。采取联校、联企、联外,整合国内外艺术类院校教授、企业一线专家、学院专职教师等三支力量,已经形成了百余人的国内外教师团队。其中90%以上具有硕士以上学位, 70%以上具有企业背景, 80%以上具有海外留学经历。为国际化、应用型办学提供了师资保障。
坚持开放办学。一方面,按学年分别设计了社会实践、认知实习、专业实习、毕业实习四个阶段的集中实践教学计划,使学校教学与社会需求及行业发展保持互动和联系。另一方面,学校邀请业界设计师带着项目以校企合作工作室(设计中心)的方式落地学校,以课题(项目)引导学生课程学习,增强学以致用的体验感。现已经与100余家企业建立合作关系,例如广东顺德工业城,雅昌集团、央视、达索、中国天眼、方正字库、华灿奖、思特科技、盛讯信息技术,宏景微筑、京东等。
The Academy focuses on the construction of an educational teaching ecosystem and the exploration of resource introduction models. By adopting a strategy of collaboration with other schools, enterprises, and international institutions, it has integrated the strengths of professors from domestic and international art schools, frontline experts from enterprises, and full-time teachers from the academy, forming a team of over a hundred teachers from both China and abroad. More than 90% of these teachers hold a master's degree or above, over 70% have enterprise background, and over 80% have overseas study experience, providing a strong faculty support for the international and applied-oriented education.
The Academy adheres to the principle of open-door education. On one hand, it has designed a intensive practical teaching plan divided into four phases according to the academic year: social practice, cognitive internship, professional internship, and graduation internship, ensuring that school teaching maintains interaction and connection with societal needs and industry development. On the other hand, the Academy invites industry designers with projects to establish school-enterprise cooperative studios (design centers) within the school, guiding students' course learning with topics (projects), and enhancing the experience of applying what they have learned. The Academy has now established cooperative relationships with more than 100 enterprises, such as Guangdong Shunde Industrial City, Artron Group, CCTV, Dassault, China Sky Eye(FAST), Founder Type, Huacan Award, Gooest Technology, Shengxun Information Technology, Hongjing Weizhu, JD.com, and others.

Studios serve as practical teaching centers for integrating resources and exploring innovative applications across disciplines. They organize interdisciplinary and inter-institutional teams of teachers and industry resources, guiding teaching with real-world projects and problems. They embody the integration of art, engineering, and business etc., fostering interdisciplinary innovation and ensuring seamless alignment between the academy's educational goals and industry application needs. They cultivate students with comprehensive qualities, capable of design, planning, and technical understanding. The following nine studios are currently established:

○国际化教育教学 International Cooperation
学院2017年加入联合国唯一认证的国际艺术设计院校联盟(Cumulus),现与境外47所大学建立合作关系,2016年启动视觉传达国际班,2018年启动环境设计国际班,2023年全面推进国际化办学。学院一直关注国际先进设计教育理念和设计发展新动向,与世界同步。致力于为学生提供跨文化交流学习的国际资源平台,培养全球化背景下设计思辨能力与个性化创新能力。为学生毕业进入国际企业和考研深造奠定基础。办学措施与成果如下:
1.采用与国际接轨的课程计划,为学生未来留学提供课程对接保障。
2.聘请外教参与专业核心课程教学。
3.提供雅思英语教学课程计划,外教和中教联合授课。
4.本科双学位获取,修完计划内课程、并在境外学习一年以上,达到境外院校学位学分要求,将同时获取境外院校学士学位。可自主选择“1+3”“2+2”“3+1”境外学习项目。
5.校内国际工作坊项目:每学年秋季学期组织为期2周国际工作坊+业界工作坊教学。
6.伊拉斯谟(Erasmus Programme+)免学费交换生欧盟项目,时长为一个学期。
7.国际游学项目,组织师生参加国际教育学术会议及友好学校工作坊教学活动,一般时长为 10-15 天(学生自主报名、自费)。
8.自2016年国际班开办以来,学生国际院校考研平均录取率50% 以上。
In 2017, the Academy joined the Cumulus, the only international consortium of art and design schools accredited by the United Nations, and has now established cooperative relationships with 47 universities abroad. The English-taught Visual Communication program was initiated in 2016, followed by the Environmental Design program in 2018, and by 2023, all four majors have fully advanced international education, with English teaching divided into IELTS classes and CET-4/6 English classes. The main features are as follows:
1. International professional curriculum plans are adopted to provide curriculum docking assurance for students' future study abroad.
2. Foreign teachers are employed to participate in the teaching of core professional courses.
3. Students are encouraged to study abroad, pursue further education, and a specialized IELTS English teaching plan is provided, with joint teaching by foreign and Chinese teachers.
4. Undergraduate dual degree acquisition is possible; upon completion of the planned courses and study abroad for more than one year, meeting the degree credit requirements of foreign institutions will result in obtaining the bachelor's degree from the foreign institution. Depending on the improvement of students' English levels, they can independently choose to study abroad through "1+3," "2+2," or "3+1" programs.
5. On-campus international workshop projects: Organize a 2-week international workshop + industry workshop teaching project every fall semester.
6. Erasmus Programme+: A tuition-free exchange student program of the European Union, lasting for one semester.
7. International study tour program: Combining with international educational academic exchange activities such as the annual meeting of the Cumulus consortium, organizing teachers and students to participate in conferences and friendly school workshop teaching activities, generally lasting 10-15 days (students sign up independently and bear their own expenses).
8. Since the establishment of the English class in 2016, the average admission rate for English class students to study abroad for postgraduate studies has reached more than 50%,.
