Students of Gengdan Institute actively participated in the “First SDGs China Sustainable Development Goals China Advocate Activity”

This week, the International Office received an invitation from the "First SDGs China Sustainable Development Goals China Advocate Activity" issued by China Centre for International People-to-People Exchange Ministry of Education, and actively organized students from our university to sign up. The students gave enthusiastic feedback and signed up one after another.

The "SDGs China Sustainable Development Goals China Advocate Activity" is held once a year. Each session is a 12-month public welfare initiative. According to the content and core ideas of the 17 United Nations sustainable development goals, let each month as the boundary to design a series of multi-level and multi-dimensional interesting practical activities for each sustainable development goal, including poster transmission, interactive videos, feeling sharing, health check-in, photography competition, climate change conference simulation and other online activities.

The purpose is to improve students' in-depth understanding of the United Nations sustainable development goals, stimulate young people to think about the sustainable development goals, and create a sustainable future through practice.

 

According to their own conditions and interests, students can choose to complete different levels of tasks, learn the concepts and knowledge of the relevant sustainable development goals, show their thinking and action on sustainable development issues, and practice the sustainable development goals at the same time, and expand the influence of Chinese youth on international problem.

The first "SDGs China Sustainable Development Goals China Advocate Activity" will be held from March 2023 to February 2024. Students who have completed all activities for a total of four months throughout the year can receive a certificate of participation issued by China Center for International People-to-People Exchange Ministry of Education.

In order to urge the students of our university to better participate in and complete this practical activity, the International Office has set up an punching group of Gengdan Institute, selected two senior students as leaders to lead the students to complete the monthly theme activities on time. Up to now, the group has gathered nearly 300 students from different grades and majors. The activity is still under registration. More students are welcome to sign up.
