The first Cherry Blossom Festival also known as the 16th Cherry Blossom Festival of Gengdan Institute in Shunyi District inaugurated on April 11, 2021 at Gengdan Institute of Beijing University of Technology. The opening ceremony was held as scheduled at 2pm. Leaders of Shunyi District and Gengdan Institute attended the ceremony on which rich and colorful artistic performances were given.

As the last part of the event, the distinguished guests announced the opening for the Cherry Blossom Festival together. Afterwards, the guests went to the statue of Gengdan to honor the martyr and then visited the campus.

On the opening day, Gengdan Institute organized a lot of culture exhibitions. The International Office invited many educational institutions and cooperative universities from the United States, Canada, Germany, England and other places.

The mourning service of Martyr Gengdan is the highlight on the festival. Many parents and their child came to show their respects to Gengdan, hoping to remember the history and make contributions to our country in the future.
