How to Make Your Decision
Your decision is based on how much time you have and if you need a degree program, a dual degree program, a credit course, a non-degree module in a certain subject or a specific theme workshop and practicum. Gengdan Institute makes its resources available for each international student, including resources on campus and beyond,i.e. the overseas cooperative universities with high quality, the metropolitan educational environment of Beijing.
For a bachelor’s degree in one of more than 20 programmes offered by different schools, international students are required to earn credits 240 in three to six years. One credit usually requires 25 hours of in-class and out-ofclass work. A normal class usually meets once a week for two hours leading to 2 credits.
Dual degree programmes are worth considering for international students who would like to experience multiculturalism and to be a global citizen. You can study your first two or three years at Gengdan Institute and study abroad at our overseas cooperative universities in your last two or one year. Successful graduates will receive a graduation certificate along with a bachelor's degree issued by Gengdan Institute and a bachelor’s degree issued by overseas universities, according to the regulation of the Degree Committee.
Chinese language and culture courses, theme workshops, and social practicum can be arranged according to students’ needs, which could either be an intensive study of certain subject or a module in a certain academic area or theme. English instruction is also available upon request.
Assessment for learning outcome proceeds through either paper work, exams, independent study, project presentation or a report of social activities by students. Merit awards are provided to those who have made the best use of the learning opportunities in and outside the college.
