In July of 2023, the Digital Media and Art major in the Gengdan Institute School of International Design had 22 teachers and students participate in the 15-day entrepreneurial practice in the Daqing Site Sci-Tech and Daqing Digital Innovation Industrial Park. The project practice interested students enormously and inspired them in terms of research and exploration whose surprising applied results were of particular value, which entered “Daqing Topic News” Reportage on Central Television.

Since 2019, the School of International Design established a close relationship of school-enterprise cooperation with Site Sci-Tech—a leading enterprise in China’s digital innovation industry, having sent students to the enterprise for internship and practice a number of times. The cooperation covered a lot of fields such as curriculum practice, major cognition practice, professional internship, graduation design, professional competition events, enterprise venture research and development, teaching and scientific research, major development, etc.

In 2023, the School of International Design and the Site Sci-Tech Company and Daqing Digital Innovation Design Industrial Park co-founded an “industry & teaching” internship base. With a beautiful environment, the Daqing Site Sci-Tech Company and Digital Innovation Industrial Park has high-quality and systematic design, research and development devices and facilities for digital products and project testing systems, gathers many high-level technical and artistic experts and owns complete attached conditions for “industry & teaching”. The enterprise and industrial park has a pretty strong sense of exploring school-enterprise cooperation in a creative way; the contemporary “iron man” spirt of the Site Sci-Tech team just serves as a vivid example of talent development, hence a pretty good scene of school-enterprise cooperation and “industry & teaching” on the whole, which attracts a great many higher education institutions as well as teachers and students across the whole country to the park for cooperation on practice. In this professional practice, the Digital Media and Art majors in the School of International Design took part in business planning and facilitated the progression of more than ten subjects including the China Aeronautic and Astronautic Knowledge Digital Popularization Exhibition and so on. Meanwhile, the Institute and the enterprise co-advised students in terms of the “Light Year Prize” competition event; teachers and students took part in many research and development projects such as the Fourth Century Mammoth Park and so on, during which fruitful results were obtained.

On September 17, 2023, the “Daqing Topic News” of Central Television reported on the practice and study dynamics and results of the Gengdan Institute School of International Design teachers and students in the Daqing Site Sci-Tech and Digital Innovation Industrial Park, which gave a more powerful impetus to the deepening development of school-enterprise cooperation. Currently, on the one hand the Institute and the Site Sci-Tech and Innovation Park (Beijing Campus) are exploring ways of everyday practice and teaching together; on the other hand, based on school-enterprise deep cooperation the Institute has begun to explore the teaching mode of the “Project Office System” which is combined with the internship and practice in the Base Park (Daqing), thus trying its best to help promote the new developments of education, teaching and students.
