the International Office held a lecture University College Birmingham on’s Master’s program
On the afternoon of November 3rd, the International Office held the offline information session of the University College Birmingham 's Master's Program. Mr.Wang Rui from the China Office of the University College Birmingham was invited to introduce to students.
Starting from January 2022, some undergraduate and postgraduate courses at University College of Birmingham will be awarded bachelor's/master's degrees from the University of Warwick in the United Kingdom and can be certified by the Ministry of Education of China. Warwick University is a famous Russell Group university, ranking eighth in the British Guardian in 2021 and 64th in QS World University in 2023. Our University established a cooperative relationship with University College Birmingham in October this year. At present, the cooperation areas between two universities are double-degree courses and master's programs.
In this lecture, Mr. Wang mainly introduced the master's courses in detail. At present, there are four majors for students to choose: Hotel and Tourism Management, Business Management, Finance and Accounting, and Marketing Management. The Master of Science in Finance and Accounting is accredited by the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA). Upon completion of this course, students can apply for exemption from the 11 CIMA qualification examinations and can also apply for CIMA's Gateway examination. The Master of Business Management programme is accredited by the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) and will lead to a Level 7 CMI Certificate in Management Strategy and Leadership upon graduation.
Subsequently, Mr. Wang elaborated on the four aspects of enrolment requirements, language requirements, fees and accommodation environment. The application conditions for the master's program are our senior classmates, with an average score of more than 75 points, IELTS 6.0 or TOEFL score 72 (if you don't have an English score, you can also submit an application first. After getting the conditional admission notice, you can make an appointment for an internal test). The annual cost totaled RMB 220,000 to RMB 240,000. The student dormitory building is located in the centre of Birmingham, only a 10 to 15 minute walk from the main campus.
After the lecture, some students stayed in the classroom to have more in-depth communication with Mr.Wang, wanting to get more information about the master's degree.
