Such an Energetic First Day: Watch the Maiden Classroom Experience of Gengdan Students of Class 2023!

 

 

With a new starting point and a new journey along with hope, passion and challenge, the courses for freshmen of class 2023 have officially begun.

 

In order to make freshmen develop good living and learning habits, in the early morning Vice-President Liu Lin makes a tour of inspection accompanied by all student affairs workers, saying “no” to such behavior as bringing breakfast to the classroom, entering the classroom in slippers, being late, etc. Remedying in the very place promotes the development of a civilized campus and cultivates a good academic atmosphere.

 

The Office for Teaching Affairs at the Institute arranges for courses to be selected in advance, guaranteeing freshmen can take their classes smoothly. Vice-President Xu Fei together with the accompanying team makes a tour of inspection on teaching.

 

 

The Maiden Experience of Attending Classes:

 

Bian Keyi, Financial Management 23-3, International Business School

The first college class makes me very excited and curious. It is the very first time I touch and study the course of Management Studies. The Teacher mainly lectures in the learning methods, curricular make-up, etc. of Management Studies. Although currently there is something I don’t know or understand, I believe as I study deeper, I would understand this course more in the near future.

 

Li Haoyu, Financial Engineering 23-1, International Business School

Today officially marks the first day of my taking college classes. With an extremely excited mood I take Microeconomics as my fist class. Different from “small-desk” teaching at high school the college class is freer and opener, in which we can gather together discussing our own ideas and brainstorming. Meanwhile, in studying at college the biggest change I feel is that the classroom atmosphere is more informal. However, our learning attitudes remain formal and rigorous while attending classes. In the afternoon the English Teacher Wang encourages us to dare to speak English in the class giving each of us an opportunity to open the mouth, which makes us believe that practical English based on spoken language rather than one exam sheet after another is king. Harvests are abundant in the day’s learning!

 

Sun Qingzhu, Applied Psychology 23-2, School of Humanities

The first class is Major Cognition and Professional Career by Teacher Zhao Jin. This interesting class lets me have a clearer understanding of the Applied Psychology major, inspires me very much with regard to my future study, and also makes me have a rethink about this major, strengthens my determination to help others.

 

Bi Dawen, Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language 23-2, School of Humanities

The first class after school opens leaves me an extremely deep impression. Although Teacher Yuan Zhenfang has to make the class online on health grounds, this doesn’t at all affect students’ passion for Chinese Writing; every student is being eager to communicate with the Teacher in class. Also, Teacher Yuan outlines Chinese Writing and classroom standards. Beneath her lines of words are her deep academic ground and teaching passion. With such a wonderful beginning I believe that students’ attitudes towards the study for their professional courses would also be more positive in the future.

 

Song Zihang, Computer Science and Technology 23-4, School of Information Technology 

The first class in Advanced Mathematics at college makes me feel astonished. Compared with previous Mathematics at high school, Advanced Mathematics at college is more intriguing. In spite of time limit, the Teacher’s lecture on Advanced Mathematics is pretty comprehensive. Furthermore, we are assigned lots of exercises helping us quickly master particular theoretical knowledge and deepen our understanding of Advanced Mathematics.

 

Li Xiangru, Electronic and Information Engineering 23-1,School of Information Technology

In the first class in Advanced Mathematics, we review Preliminary Function and study the basic definition of Mapping, so as to lay a solid foundation for the following study of Function and Limit. Our Math Teacher Cui Yanying is humorous and interesting. Students actively interact in class, thus shaping an extremely good classroom learning atmosphere. After class I would meticulously make up notes and study the very contents in advance that Teacher Cui assigns as a task. Looking forward to a better performance of myself in next class!

 

Xu Youxuan, Engineering Management 23-1, School of Mechanical Engineering

Today marks the first class for freshmen of class 2023 and the first class in our whole four-year college study and life. Compared with Preliminary Mathematics, Advanced Mathematics is more abstract and complex. Usually, one single class would just cover the very results of up to hundreds of years of exploration by mathematicians, which exhibits the richness of course contents and the immensity of knowledge points. Through the Teacher’s detailed explanation, I gain a lot. Besides, I would try and lay a solid foundation, having a good start to my four-year college study.

 

Li Tianqi, Machine Design, Manufacturing and Automation 23-2, School of Mechanical Engineering

In the class the Teacher meticulously lectures for us in particular knowledge in terms of Advanced Physics which is closely related to our everyday life, deepening our understanding of the very differences between Advanced Physics and Physics we studied at junior and senior middle schools and increasing my interest in studying Advanced Physics so much.

 

Liu Yaomeng, Animation 23-1, School of Digital Technology

The way the Teacher teaches is pretty humorous with effective verbal and non-verbal communication. There are many classroom interactions, which can motivate students very well. The overall pace of the class is not fast, so much so that we might find what we are taught easy to accept. Looking forward to the following classes.

 

Qiao Yiqi, Digital Media Technology 23-1, School of Digital Technology

 

With my ambivalent mood of excitement and nervousness, the first class begins. At first, the Teacher introduces the rich study contents of professional courses in a lot of detail. Then, the Teacher lectures in particular technical knowledge such as how to use PS, etc., which lets me gain a lot.

 

Xie Shuying, Art Design 23-8, Gengdan Academy of Design

The experience in the first class is wonderful. First, the Teacher is responsible for teaching with vivid language, clear organization, sufficient and appropriate examples; also, the Teacher is strict with students, can encourage them to speak eagerly, creating a pretty active and passionate classroom atmosphere. Second, the Teacher can exactly control the direction of asking questions, motivating student’s interest in study and making them have an active state of mind. Third, the Teacher’s teaching style is very suitable to us, whose emphasis is salient and whose organization is clear based on the knowledge structure features of this course. Combing theory with practice, the Teacher makes particular knowledge more systematic through exemplification.

 

Cui Yidan, Art Design 23-3, Gengdan Academy of Design

The first class is Design Thinking and Expression. The Teacher says that the notion of “design” is the thinking pattern and course of action in proposing problems and solving them. The Teacher shows us some relevant design products, telling us about their design ideas, which makes me admire the design thinking ability of elder students. One design regarding the ban on using plastics interests me very much. When a plastic bag is put into the chip there would be a hand reaching out from the middle trying to shake hands with you, giving the operator an environment-friendly cloth bag below. I think this design really enlightens people, appealing to them to protect the environment. Besides, the Teacher talks about a number of interesting designs, which lets me gain a lot.

 

The new semester brings new chances as well as new challenges. With study, socialization, work, nervousness, confusion and hope, may you adjust the state, be part of the campus as soon as possible, study hard and grow up in a happy way. Try to be a better self! Go ahead towards the planned future!
